Are you going to Rio Carnaval 2013?

We finally bit the bullet & booked our Sambodrome tickets for Rio Carnaval 2013 over the weekend. We were over the moon & even considering participating in the parade. However, our celebration was fleeting as it seems Rio-Carnival.net (proudly sporting the “recommended by Lonely Planet” banner as a form of reassurance for us Westerners – maybe!) charged me twice, inevitably pushing my credit card to its limit. So I have been trying to ring both numbers on their website to no avail. This is one of those times when I wish I knew/understood Portuguese! This morning, I found relief when I received an email from a Rio-Carnival.net representative, advising me that the matter will be investigated. After reading mixed (mostly negative) reviews on Tripadvisor last night, I was quite ready to let my bank handle the matter. But after receiving such courteous & prompt email, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, millions of tourists would book through them…surely….hopefully…. Safe travels, Ailene
