Our Experience With Viator.com – Day Trips Out Of Paris, France

We first used Viator back in 2011 to book a couple of day trips out of Paris, France. As seasonal travellers, we like to try out different booking services available to consumers. That’s the beauty of travel – there’s no right or wrong way to do it, and there are gazillions of resources available.

Viator is quite easy to use:

  1. You search for your desired day trip
  2. Choose the dates you want
  3. Check availability
  4. Add it to your shopping cart
  5. Book and pay for it
  6. You get a confirmation email
  7. Meet your driver and guide outside your accommodation at a specified time*

The day trips* we booked were a door-to-door service via mini-van, so it’s great if you have very limited time in one place like we did. Also, they require proof of your identity so make sure you bring a photocopy of your passport with you, along with a printout of your Viator voucher.

It’s worth noting that like many online booking sites or virtual travel agencies, the prices can sometimes be a little hefty. As it was our honeymoon, we wanted to treat ourselves to something kind of fancy.

The prices have increased since 2011 but I believe these were the day trips we took:

Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan

Loire Valley Castles Day Trip: Chambord, Cheverny and Chenonceau
