My Overflowing Travel Bucketlist

  1. See the icebergs of Antarctica, either through an expedition or via Patagonia crossing
  2. See the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) from Norway or Alaska (January 2016)
  3. Travel the World – every continent, every city. Experience at least one city or country every year – (half a tick as this is a work in progress)
  4. Visit all UNESCO World Heritage Sites
  5. See the Seven Wonders of the World (old and new)
  6. Stay in a glass igloo at Kakslauttanen, Finland (Bonus: watch the dancing Aurora Borealis) (January 2016)
  7. Trek the 42km Camino Inka (Inca Trail) to reach Machu Picchu, Peru – (December 2012)
  8. Stay in the Ice Hotel, Sweden
  9. Have a White Christmas (December 2016)
  10. Relocate to a Scandinavian country
  11. Visit the equator line, Ecuador
  12. Hike the Norwegian Fjords
  13. Do the hot air balloon thing at Cappadocia, Turkey
  14. Walk the W Trail in Patagonia
  15. Take a travel photography class
  16. See the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge – (April 2014)
  17. Make it on the news – (April 2014)
  18. Backpack South America – (half a tick as the continent is too big!)
  19. Trail the Cinque Terre, Italy
  20. Go ‘Off the Grid’ even for a few days
  21. Selfie with the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge
  22. Meet the Queen Majesty herself (Bonus: to have tea with HRH)
  23. Make a wish at the Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain), Italy – (October 2007, September 2011)
  24. Look up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel – (October 2007)
  25. See the current Pope – (October 2007)
  26. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, France – (October 2007, September 2011)
  27. Touristy pose at the leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy – (October 2007)
  28. See the Ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras or Belize
  29. Visit Australia’s “Big Things“. So far:

  30. Drive through the Italian countryside

  34. Go to Fiji (Bonus: visit Castaway Island) – (February 2008)
  35. Sample ‘weed’ for the first (and only) time in Amsterdam – (October 2007)
  36. Have a serving of ‘hoppers’ and escargots – (September 2007)
  37. Make a Queen’s Guard at Buckingham Palace crack a smile

  54. Ride a hot air balloon – (2005)
  55. Go to Flemington Racecourse for the Melbourne Cup (Bonus: get an exclusive invite to the Emirates marquee)
  56. Revel in the Rio Carnivale atmosphere – (February 2013)
  57. Hire a car and road trip across Western and Eastern Europe
  58. Zipline

  70. Start a travel blog and maintain it – (half a tick as it’s still a WIP)
  71. Trek to Mt Everest Base Camp, Nepal
  72. Trek Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
  73. See the gigantic stone heads of Easter Island, Chile
  74. Participate in either a half marathon
  75. Participate in the Sydney City to Surf
  76. Take at least one cooking class – (December 2012)
  77. Utter the phrase “F*cking Brugge” (from the movie In Brugges) in Brugge, Belgium – (October 2011)
  78. See Wiltshire’s Stonehenge, UK – (July 2009)
  79. Spend New Years Eve/Day in another timezone – (January 2013)
  80. Walk the Great Wall of China
  81. Photograph the East Gallery (former Berlin Wall), Germany – (October 2011)
  82. See/experience snow in Switzerland – (October 2007)
  83. Visit Iguazu Falls from the Argentinian and Brazilian sides – (February 2013)
  84. Throw away the map and get ‘lost’ in a city – (September 2007 and all the time)

  91. Try at least one new and unusual dish every year – (half a tick as this will be a neverending feat)
  92. Sponsor a child
  93. Go back to my birth country of Philippines and explore
  94. Donate my hair for cancer to be made as wigs – (November 2012)
  95. Be a tourist in my own home town – (December 2009)
  96. Retire early
  97. Travel until I die!

Tell you a secret – it took me years before I finally decided to write the list down haha It was all in my head too but during my travels, I found that bucket lists were always coming up in conversations. I’m glad it’s inspired you to publicize a list – tag me on your post once you’ve done it so I can read it and get some inspiration =)
