We dined at Spice Temple back in September, a gift from my former employer. Meeting Chef Neil Perry, founder and owner of this fancy Chinese restaurant, was surreal. He was dining with his wife by the bar and although it appeared to be a ‘date night’, Chef Perry was more than happy to greet guests and pose for photos.

Gourmet Traveller described Spice Temple as a “pleasantly Buddha-free space”, taking its cues from cuisines other than the Australian mainstay of Cantonese. And Chef Perry nailed it.

So over the weekend, we took out my inlaws to get their spice on!

Why you should dig in
