Today marks exactly 5 weeks until Christmas. A question I’ve heard thrown around lately is: Where did this year go?
“Where did it go?”
Are you one of those people who have been so busy all year that you’ve lost track of time? Or one who just can’t wait for this year to be over?
If you’re anything like me and have not even started thinking about the inevitable Christmas shopping, now is probably a good time to start as any to create that shopping list. And if you’re anything like me who’s on a budget for various reasons, then keep reading.
If you have a family member or friend who is a globe-trotter or planning to travel, this post is dedicated to you. There’s nothing more exciting (or useful) than receiving a gift that will come in handy for their next adventure.
As a lover of all things travel, I’m always searching the WWW for inspiration. Here’s a quick list I’ve come up with which might inspire you – and of course, feel free to share your own!
Personalised and unique leather luggage tags
Etsy.com is a great way to find unique gifts. A friend of mine received something similar a few years ago.
Mobile phone accessories
You don’t need to be a globe-trotter to appreciate quality photos taken from your smartphone. There are gazillions of mobile phone accessories/attachments to enhance one’s photography experience. Photojojo offers a range of products, one of which are the phone lenses.
Amazon.com Kindle Gift Cards
This is a fantastic – not to mention, lightweight alternative – to carrying around weighty travel books. Probably worthwhile finding out beforehand if they will be taking a Kindle, iPad or other tablets with them when travelling. They can use these vouchers to purchase their chosen travel book/s whenever and from wherever they are.
World Map Wall Stickers/Decal
This is probably more for those who are not always on the go 24/7, but perhaps for those who still travel quite a lot and have a home (wall!) to come back to. eBay, Etsy.com, Amazon and various online retailers sell these so you’re spoilt for choice.
Portable External Power Accessory/Battery Charger/Battery Phone Case
Again, there are so many brands and styles. A quick-charge external battery such as Morphie is quite popular. It is on the pricey end in my books (but depends on your idea of a “budget”), so I opted for the Powerbank one instead from Amazon (also featured in my 5 Very Handy Travel Accessories post).
